Developed by speech pathologists and educators, our program carefully follows the Victorian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework. Through playful activities like craft, movement, song, dance, and games, your child will develop crucial communication, social, literacy, numeracy and independence skills, all while having fun!

What We Focus On

At Therapy Talks, our School Readiness Group combines the science of speech pathology with the key learning areas of the Victorian Curriculum to give children the strongest possible start to school. We focus on:

• Communication & Language Skills
  Strengthening listening, understanding, and expressive language through games, storytelling, and structured conversations. We support children to follow instructions, share ideas, and build the vocabulary they’ll need for the classroom.

• Social & Emotional Readiness
  Developing turn-taking, sharing, and cooperative play so children can join group activities with confidence. We also support emotional regulation strategies, helping children manage transitions (like packing up or moving between tasks) with ease.

• Early Literacy Foundations
  Introducing phonological awareness, sound play, and a love of books. We use evidence-based literacy activities aligned with the Victorian Curriculum to prepare children for reading and writing.

• Early Numeracy & Thinking Skills
  Building number concepts, sequencing, and problem-solving through everyday routines, cooking, and play. Children learn how to notice patterns, count with meaning, and use mathematical language in context.
